Today being 29-11-2016. The Nigerian Army announced an Operation code name in the South East " Operation Python dance"   One would wonder the reason and basis for such an act in South East in a disguise of safer member month, One would look into it deep and see they may be an underlook behind this operation, we shall be watching as the pages open for everyone to watch and see.
Looking at the south East zone, its small and not under or suffering from any form of terrorism like the north east of Nigeria thay requires that kind of military operation in the region, The only issue which is in a low key is the Fulani Militia, which the government has done almost nothing to checkmate the esses of these cattle rearers. Lest we forget this is a zone in which Amnesty international has condemned the extra judicial killings in that same zone, I can say this military occupation is quite reckless and uncalled for, where are the hungry igbo President dreamers? Have they said anything? The answer is NO, These men of no honor and hypocrite to their generation, they all only good at the press where potray as if they are for the people meanwhile they are after their personal pockets!
As i speak South East is under occupation because as u travel from Lagos towards South East, there's a distinct pattern to the stops that you are subjected to.
1. At Oza Nogogo, historically the border between the edo and igbo speaking people, there is an immigration check point
2. Then soliders, like you have crossed into another country
3. To be honest, the soliders don't stop everyone, but they are/ were there at least 6 days ago
4. Just before you get to the river niger at Asaba, there are 3 check points, 1police, 2 military, You will be stopped there
5. Then you finally cross the bridge and enter into Onitsha,there is a check point at the foot of the bridge.
6. Just before fegge junction there's an armoured vehicle parked somewhere just chilling and surveying you.
7. The madness really starts at around Iweka, Police, Army, Police, Army, Police. Evry 100meters, you are stopped
8. The soliders tend to be more polite, The police men always notice that the "2" in your papers is actually "Z" and demand for something.
9. This continues until you leave Onitsha and are headed towards Owerri, the check point reduce, but are present at every bad spot.
10. When you drive through the many bad roads of Owerri, there are not as many check points these days as they were a year ago.
11. However there is one major check point just before Obinze. And this trends continue up until you get to Port Harcourt.
12. In PH you meader through that town and arrive at Oyigbo junction just before the Imo River ,there is a major check point there.
13. After being searched ( I 've always been searched there) you continue towards Aba and the density of check points increases as you go.
14. Here there's hardly any police, its always soliders. Again i must stress in my experience they are better behaved than the police.
15. But the tension the soliders presence brings can be cut with a knife all through the road they are, Evry kilometers until Umuahia.
16. As you get closer to population center the distance between the check point reduces, And this area are populated....
17. The check point are also almost always close to bad spots and the Port Harcourt - Aba - Enugu road is a road user's nightmare.
18. Because of the number of times i have been stopped, i know the names of alot of the hamlets along the road.
19. Obehie, Ihie-ukwu, Asa Nnetu, Omenazu, Umuolike, Ubakala, Ohuhu, Umuagu, Azunmiri, Umuezike, All in 90km between Aba and Okigwe.
20. At Okigwe, where Hausa is fast becoming the dominant language, there is a huge check points, complete 2 armoured vehicles.
21. Between Okigwe and Enugu (85)km the last time i was in that road there was no check point.
22. But on the other circuit, that is going back towards Onitsha from enugu the check point madness begins again on Federal roads.
Finally and back to onitsha the military check points are there again in full force, with all these drama in Ani Igbo one wonder what the need is the "Operation Python dance"
In my view this announcement coming so soon after the Amnesty international report is a calculated insult. Given the historical animosity between the military and the region how soon before something stupid happens, O my beloved people.
And we have so-called elders/elites/politicians who will have little or nothing to say but if it is BIAFRA, they will run to Abuja and collect money for their selfish interest and come around claiming to be the leaders. People are  respected by roles they play in peoples lives, if an elder/elites/politician is only after selling his people's collective interests, then he shouldn't be respected or honored alot of atrocities have happened in Ala igbo. Shame on the politicians, governors, elders.
